A Caribbean vacation is a dream come true for some people, and the islands are among some of the most beautiful in the world. But apart from the sea and sand, there is a lot you can do for fun among the lush tropics, such as trying out the stunning fresh food and even visiting waterfalls.

Get Out onto the Water

Of course, the Caribbean is home to the most stunning waters on the planet. A deep and rich blue, you can see the bottom of the seabed because the water is so clean. So why not get out onto the water? A boat can take you out for an adventure like no other. If you are wondering “How much does it cost to rent a boat in the Bahamas and other islands?” Don’t worry, there are reasonable prices, and you can go snorkeling, simply swim around, or visit turtles and dolphins.

Try the Food, Of Course

One of the best reasons to travel is to try the food of different places. And the Caribbean has some of the best. Big and bold flavors from the area’s fruits, like pineapple, lime, and coconut, combine with the spices and herbs brought over from colonists for unique blends, such as Creole. Some of the best native dishes to try include Goat Curry or Stew, Brown Stew Chicken, and, of course, Jerk Chicken. But above all, don’t forget the famous ackee and saltfish.

Go Exploring on a Caribbean Vacation

So, you’ve mastered the waters of the Caribbean islands. What now? Head inland, of course. There is much more to the Caribbean islands than sun, sea, and sand. And you can see some of the most amazing sights just trekking through the wilds of the surroundings. For example, you trek the Caribbean’s longest trail, Dominica’s Waitukubuli National Trail, which stretches 115 miles. Along here, you will see natural wonders like hot springs, huge gorges, and a boiling lake.

Check Out the Waterfalls

The tropical surroundings of the Caribbean mean there is lush nature all around you, everywhere. And when you head a little further into the lands or along the many coast coves, you will undoubtedly come across waterfalls. Waterfalls are everywhere in the Caribbean islands, and some of the largest, such as Salto de Jalda, are up to 400 feet high. Some others of note include Kaieteur Falls in Guyana, Dunns River Falls in Jamaica, and Diamond Falls in St. Lucia.

Relax Like the Locals

Of course, the Caribbean has one of the most laid-back lifestyles found anywhere in the world. If you just want to sit back and take in the natural beauty around you, that’s perfectly fine. There’s nothing quite like a Barbadian afternoon on the beach. And a Jamaican sunset? Forget about it. Some of the most relaxing beaches in the Caribbean include Grand Anse Beach, Doctor’s Beach, and the one and only Montego Bay. Just keep an eye out for shells in the sand.

Summary

Getting out onto the water is a must on a Caribbean vacation. Yet exploring inland areas is also highly recommended. And, of course, you can take it all in while relaxing on one of the beaches.
